Categories: John's Coffee Journey
It's been a while since the last update on my coffee journey, so I thought I'd add a quick update on things. As the title of the post implies, I think the journey is now complete. There's been a few things that's happened lately so let me bring you all up to speed...
The secret to making coffee drinkable is to add milk and sugar.
I've not had a coffee for a few weeks now and I don't miss it. I now know I could drink it if I ever wanted to, so I guess this journey has been a success, but I've learned I'm just not a coffee drinker. Which is a shame, I'm sure if I could get past the bitter taste I could get used to it and start to enjoy the different types of coffee. It reminds me a bit of whisky. I don't know anyone who likes whisky the first time they taste it. It takes some getting used to, but once you do it opens up a whole world of new types and flavours.
One thing I noticed with coffee was the boost you get from it, which can be useful for any parent of small children. When you are having breakfast and struggling to keep your eyes open following a difficult night knowing you've still got the full day ahead of you coffee can be the perfect remedy to help wake you up a bit. However we're starting to get slightly better sleeps at night so I don't find myself needing a caffiene boost in the mornings.
Final verdict: I love the smell of coffee. The taste of coffee is ok, but I think I will stick to tea, mixy juice.... and whisky (not all together though).
